Board of Directors Biographies

Gina Allendorf, Chair
Gina Allendorf received a BA from the University of Notre Dame, and a JD from the University of California, Davis. She has been an attorney for ten years, working in a private law firm doing civil litigation, a government firm representing children in the foster care system and, most recently, in a non-profit law firm working to advance solutions to end homelessness. Presently Gina has taken time off of work to raise her two children, though she remains dedicated to serving her community, both locally and in the greater bay Area.

Adrienne Verrilli, Member
Adrienne Verrilli is a communications veteran and public policy expert who has worked in non-profit community for the past 12 years. She has led efforts to increase access to health care for immigrants in the U.S. and to advance the designation of marine protected areas off the California coast. Adrienne has worked on progressive health and education issues including access to the health care system for low-income people and people with special medical needs, geriatric patient care, as well as teen pregnancy, STD, and HIV prevention, family planning and abortion rights.

Adrienne also served for more than four years as the director or communications for the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS), where she spear-headed the organization’s communications strategy to promote comprehensive sex education in the U.S. and internationally. Adrienne’s work consistently brought critical sexual health-related issues to the national spotlight such as teen pregnancy prevention, global HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, and the rights women and girls to access reproductive health care, among others.

Melissa Camacho, Secretary
Melissa Camacho is head coach of the Girls Volleyball team for the PAL program in Redwood City. Works full time with the County of San Mateo Juvenile Probation as well as having a home based telecommunication business with 5Linx. Graduating at the end of October 2009 Melissa will be receiving bachelors degree in Business Technical Management with a Specialty in Criminal Justice.

Sono Aibe, Member
Sono Aibe is Senior Advisor for Strategic Initiatives at Pathfinder International. Before joining Pathfinder, she was with the Population and Reproductive Health Program at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for 13 years as an international grantmaker. Sono has an A.B. from Harvard University in History of Science, and a Master’s in Health Science in International Health from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Jessica Bowen-Bazyl, Member
Jessica Bowen Bazyl, MPH, CHES, is a Health Educator with over 15 years experience in the non-profit and academic fields. Starting with an internship with Planned Parenthood in 1992, she knew she had found her calling in sexual, reproductive, and adolescent health. After receiving her Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, she earned a Master's in Public Health from San Francisco State University and is also a Certified Health Education Specialist. She has served as a community educator for Planned Parenthood, the American Lung Association, and Teen Talk Sexuality Education. She has also gained experience as a Program Coordinator for UCSF and a Conference Coordinator for the California Family Health Council. She believes strongly in the mission of Teen Talk and the importance of helping young people reach healthy decisions.
