Abi Karlin-Resnick
Executive Director

Abigail Karlin-Resnick, Executive Director, joined the TTSE staff in 2013, overseeing all aspects of the organization’s administration, fundraising, and program development. Most recently, she was the Director of Marketing and Business Strategy at CuriOdyssey (formerly Coyote Point Museum) in San Mateo, where she was an integral part of the executive team that engineered a major organizational turnaround. During her six-year tenure at CuriOdyssey, attendance increased 77% from it’s historic low in 2008 to it’s highest ever in 2012 and earned revenue increased by 116% to an all-time high. Prior to joining the museum, she was the Associate Director at the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy, a statewide teen pregnancy advocacy organization in Boston, where she oversaw the administration and fundraising. Prior to that, she developed and coordinated youth development programs for underserved youth in two low-income Chicago neighborhoods. Abi was born and raised in the Bay Area on the Peninsula. She received her MBA in public and nonprofit management from Boston University and bachelor’s degree in psychology with a specialization in education from UCLA. Abi lives with her husband and two sons in Palo Alto. In her spare time, she is a volunteer emergency medical technician with the Red Cross of Silicon Valley’s First Aid Services Team and serves on the board of Beth Am Women, Congregation Beth Am’s women’s group.


Perryn Rowland
Director of Programs and Services

Perryn Rowland has worked in health education and with young people for 25 years. At TTSE, she manages all programs and program staff and teaches Teen Talk and Parent Talk while also presenting at community events/workshops and state and national conferences. Perryn is one of the lead authors for all three TTSE curricula: Teen Talk High School, Middle School and Puberty Talk. She has attended hundreds of births as a certified doula and childbirth educator and has worked at Planned Parenthood, Kaiser Permanente, Blossom Birth Services and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. She graduated from Wesleyan University and attended La Universidad Catolica de Lima, Peru. Perryn particularly enjoys working with Spanish-speaking youth and their parents as well as with students in Special Education classes and juvenile detention facilities. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks and spending time with her three sons.

Natalie Flotilde
Health Educator

Natalie Flotilde is a Health Educator with three years in sexual health.  She graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in Psychology from UC Merced and has worked with Planned Parenthood. She is passionate about working with youth, especially at-risk and pregnant or parenting teens.  From her experience in teaching sexual health topics, Natalie’s future plans are to pursue a Master’s in Global Public Health or earn a teaching credential.  Natalie enjoys being outdoors with her partner Everett and dog Lilo.

Jackie Samayoa
Health Educator/Teen Parent Panel Coordinator

Jackie graduated from San Francisco State in the Spring of 2011 with a B.S degree in Health Education. She has always been interested in working with youth especially high-risk youth, since she grew up in a high-risk neighborhood.  After interning at TTSE during the 2010-2011 school year, Jackie discovered her passion of working with youth. She wants to see youth succeed to their full potential and is excited to be working with TTSE this year as the Teen Parent Panel Coordinator and Health Educator. After gaining experience out in the work-field Jackie plans to pursue a Masters in Public Health.

Arti Raman
Teen Success Co-Faciliator

Arti graduated from San Francisco State University in the spring of 2012 with a B.S degree in Health Education and an emphasis in community based public health. She is passionate about working with youth and promoting sexual health. After interning for TTSE in 2011, Arti wanted to pursue her career in adolescent health care and pregnancy prevention. In addition to facilitating for one of the Teen Success groups, Arti is also working at the Teen City Clinic in Fremont as a Peer Health Educator. In a few years Arti hopes to pursue a Masters in Public Health.

Louise D. Hall, MSW
Teen Success Coordinator/Health Educator

Louise graduated in 2007 with a B.S in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. She obtained her Master’s of Social Work from Temple University in 2012. Louise has worked with the Teen Success program for over a year, and has been working with at-risk youth for several years. Louise comes from a background of case management services and clinical experience. Louise has a passion for working with youth, and her areas of interest include culture/diversity, sex education and sexuality, depression/suicide, and LGBTQ issues and concerns.

La Rhonda Crosby-Johnson
Health Education Consultant

La Rhonda Crosby-Johnson, CEO of BARUTI Enterprises, trainer, educational program consultant, health educator, author and certified integral (life) coach has been working in the field of health and family life education, reproductive and women’s  health care and adolescent pregnancy prevention programs for over 25 years. She brings to the field a wealth of experience in agency and community collaboration, client services, counseling, staff development and public speaking.

Jessica Bowen Bazyl, MPH, MCHES
Teacher Training Consultant

Jessica Bowen Bazyl, MPH, MCHES, is a Health Educator who has spent much of her career focusing on adolescent health, sexual health, and comprehensive sexuality education.  She has worked for Planned Parenthood, the American Lung Association, and the California Family Health Council, as well as Teen Talk Sexuality Education.  She has also been a Researcher and Program Coordinator at UCSF and SFSU’s Center for Research on Gender and Sexuality.  She lives with her husband in San Mateo County and looks forward to starting a family.

Kehau Gunderson
Health Educator

Kehau graduated from Stanford University in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Human Biology with a concentration in Adolescent Development and Mental Health. She has worked with teens as a counselor for the Stanford Medical Science Youth Science Program and as a math and science tutor in the South Bay Area. Kehau plans on going to medical school in the near future to study Adolescent Psychiatry to continue helping teens.
